The Book Of Life

My wife and I were recently browsing the internet and decided to type our names in to see what came up… wow! Are you kidding me?  I found things that I didn’t even know about myself.  Things long forgotten began to surface.  Places I’d lived, pictures of family outings, I mean my entire life since the beginning of the internet age and before was looking back at me from this computer screen.

There was a man by the name of Edgar Cayce aka the sleeping prophet, he was known for having what we call psychic abilities.  Prominent indivuals of the time would stand in line for a chance to ask question about whatever they could think of; including Thomas Edison and Woodrow Wilson.  Cayce was a devout Christian who practiced hypnosis as a means of communicating with the ‘other side’.  When asked where he was retrieving this information, he replied, “the Akashic Records”.  For anyone not familiar with this term,

The akashic records (akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning “sky“, “space” or “aether“) is a term used in theosophy (and Anthroposophy) to describe a compendium of mystical knowledge encoded in a non-physical plane of existence. These records are described as containing all knowledge of human experience and the history of the cosmos.  People who describe the records assert that they are constantly updated automatically and that they can be accessed through astral projection[1] or when someone is placed under deep hypnosis.(Wikipedia)

This cosmic computer is referred to in many religions as the Book of Life.  It is an account of all that we’ve done since birth.  Why, pray tell is there a record being kept of all that we do in our lives?  Are we hoping to go back and relive those times?  Is it just for reminding us of where we come from?  Wanna know what I think?…of course you do…lol.  I think that just as it is termed the ‘Uni-verse’ (one collection of words) we are all only vibrations of sound traveling through the vacuum of space leaving our imprints as we go.

We write our own stories everyday oblivious to the fact that one day someone is going to read them.

Leave God Alone

I recall a song that was always sang in the church my family attended when I was a little boy.  The song was called “Jesus Will Work It Out”.  Whenever someone would sing that song, the church would go nuts.  As the singer continued onto the chorus, “Even got a light bill due, even got a gas bill too, I turned it over to the lord and he worked it out…”

Now, as with earlier posts, my goal is to get us to become more responsible for ourselves and our own actions.  It seems that our reactive mind-sets have allowed for sub-par performances in our lives far too long.  Too many of us depend on God for the wrong things.  God didn’t cause you to lose your temper at work and curse your boss and get fired.  Now you want him to help you pay your light bill…And your gas bill too?

We go to God for aches and pains, this and that when he already gave you the power to fix these things yourself!  Yes, even your temper.  However, we’ve been conditioned to sit back and allow things to be given to us, paid for us and so on.  Imagine if you were giving to yourself as much as you expect others to give to you.

Now why should we leave God alone with all of this non-sense?  Because when you actually get the concept of what God is, you’ll see how much of an untapped resource you’ve been sitting on.  You see, God as I know it to be, cannot even be classified as a him.  That’s a human personification of something that we don’t understand.  There are other dimensions of life right here on earth that we could explore if we weren’t focused on going to the club tonight.  Then you’re praying to God again because you went home drunk with someone and you don’t remember what happened!  And the cycle continues.

I hear all the time now from anyone I discuss this matter with, “well I’m not religious, I’m spiritual”.  I just continue the conversation because I know what they mean but I don’t know if they know a lot of the time what they mean.  For example, one definition of religious is: a member of an order or congregation living by such a rule.  Now most of these individuals are devout church members and do all that they can to live by the ‘rule’ of their ‘religion’.  So, how are they not religious?  The next thing I’d ask would be, “What’s the difference between right or wrong and good or bad?  Why is it that I can do good all of my life and still go to hell and someone else can do bad their entire life and go to heaven(as long as they repent)?  How does spirituality help answer this question?”  This normally changes the direction of the conversation.  Anger typically follows and an argument ensues.

Now let’s go back for a second to ‘suggestibility’.  What we believe in has been suggested to us from birth.  Even if you’ve gone the opposite direction than you were taught, you’re going that way to spite what was suggested to you.  Which brings us to our belief systems.  I dare you to speak on a topic that is contrary to someone’s belief system about anything and discover the voracity in which the person defends it.  This again is the power of suggestibility.  “This is what I believe, and no one can tell me differently!”

Well I am here to tell you differently.  We are capable of so much more than we even realize.  We’ve been mentally institutionalize to believe that this is all that Life has to offer.  We live, we die, we go to heaven or hell and live eternity there.  Well I’ll be honest, I don’t know what happens after we die, I haven’t spoken to anyone who died and came back to tell me what happens either.  What I do know is what’s going on right now while I’m alive and what I can do about it.  If we weren’t meant to be in control of our own lives then why on earth are we here?

Anti-Matter

GENEVA – Scientists claimed a breakthrough in solving one of the biggest riddles of physics, successfully trapping the first “anti-atom” in a quest to understand what happened to all the antimatter that has vanished since the Big Bang. – AP

Even if you don’t believe in the Big Bang theory, this is big news to all of us.  Why? Well, I’m glad you asked.  Let’s deal first with the notion that science is anti-religious.  This could not be further from the truth. 2 Peter offers us a glimpse into this battle of intellects with this verse:

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

If you’re able to read this post I’m sure you have some awareness of the periodic table and the list of all ‘known’ elements.  How is it possible that Peter is speaking of elements in the bible when the isolation of these elements did not began until recent ‘recorded’ history?

I’ll tell you how.  We are inundated with so much information on a daily basis we don’t take or have the time to research something so remedial.  So, here’s the big secret (don’t tell anyone though).  People in the Bible were studying science too, they just called it by a different name… belief.  It deals heavily with the idea of believing what you can’t see, whereas science is more concerned with explaining what it is that we can see and document.  One last point to this, for anyone who still thinks science is evil, you may want to consider that fact that it took science to print the very holy text that we read today…hmm.

So, what does all of this have to do with anti-matter?  Well, the way that I see it is everything has an opposite regardless of which title you give it; up/down, left/right, in/out and so on.  Sometimes the simplest answer is the right answer so I suggest that if there’s a me that I can see (matter) then there’s  a me that I can’t see (anti-matter).  Interestingly enough, it’s the me that I can’t see that controls the one that I can…(crazy)

Has science found a way to peer into the spirit world? ….just a question.
