Hypnotic Sales Techniques

Sales can be a very grueling process…when you’re not making money.  However, when your mojo is clicking and the sales are coming in there’s no better feeling.  How do the most successful sales people do it?  I worked in sales for a number of years and made a pretty decent living at it, I wish I would’ve known then what I know now about human behavior.  We were required to attend sales training seminars and the speaker would go through the processes of how to identify a potential client, when to talk and when to shut up and so on.  They provided valuable information but they never significantly improved my numbers so I just went for the free vacations…thanks!

First realize that whenever you talk to someone you’re selling them something or they’re selling you.  Whether it’s an idea or convincing you that what they’re saying is right, it’s all sales.  So, how do we incorporate this information into popping bottles?  The trainers were correct in this, you must first identify the behavior type of the person you’re speaking with.  You do this by allowing them to talk after you’ve introduced yourself and your reason for calling or being there.  This will allow you to pick up on their modality of communication i.e. “Let me see what you have here” (visual) or “Let me get in touch with you (kinesthetic or feelings) or “I hear what you’re saying” (auditory).  Identifying these keywords now gives you a door in.

The first rule of hypnosis is to listen, then build rapport and then create an emotional state in the subject using their words.  It doesn’t matter what the product may be, if you don’t create an emotional attachment with it and the client…no sale.  It’s really more about your sales technique than the product.  I can’t tell you how many things I’ve bought that I didn’t need based on the sales person.  Now, I may have thought that this person was really nice or they just made it sound so good but they had only hypnotized me momentarily.  This happens in restaurants as well.  A good waiter will come over and ‘suggest’ the days specials while using every adjective  he/she can think of to describe the food.  By the end of the spill you’ve forgotten what you really wanted and you’re ordering something completely different.  This is building value in your product.

Overall I’d say, Physicals make the best sales people.  This is due to their sociable personalities, persistence and never take no for an answer attitude.  Emotionals are better with consultative selling than the in your face approach. Put the right personality in the correct position and you’ll see an increase in productivity. Speak literally and directly to the Physical and speak to the Emotional as if you really care about their issue.  This gets you on the same page as the client and builds rapport.  Use the words follow me or because from time to time, this sends a subconscious message to the client that you’re an authority or in control and that they should be following you.  From this point take control, with both personality types and close the deal right then while the Emotions are still high.  Don’t ask for the business, demand it.  This process could take one visit or call or it could take three, regardless of the time frame, apply these principles and your success rate will increase.

So, to recap:

  • Ask open ended questions to get them to talk
  • Identify the client’s personality and modality type
  • Use their words to stimulate emotion in the conversation by building value in your product
  • Take control and close the deal

If you don’t close the next person you talk to, it’s ok, this takes practice.

Your Handwriting Explained (further)

In earlier posts, I’ve given a few examples of how our handwriting shows a lot about our personalities.  In this post I’ll get more into the letters.  For example:

Write this sentence in cursive if possible.  Sam’s flem flam flemming in a serious  situation will likely cause more issues.

Ok, take a look at your upper loops in your f’s and l’s.  Is the loop wide or thin?  A wide loop suggests that you’re ‘open’ to the opinions or suggestions of others.  A closed loop suggests the opposite.  If you’ve ever tried to convince someone of something and no matter how hard you tried they just wouldn’t go for it, this person probably has very narrow loops if any at all.  On the other hand the person that seems to go whichever way the wind blows probably has almost circular loops.

Next, take a look at your m’s and n’s.  Are they wide, narrow, or medium-sized?  Wide m’s or n’s typically show the Physical personality (extrovert).  Narrow m’s and n’s typically indicate an Emotional personality (introvert).  Medium sized m’s and n’s indicate more of a balance between the two.

Does your s look like the number eight?  This is normally an indicator of artistic qualities.  The ‘normal’ s indicates the ability to fit in or follow directions.

Lastly,  look at your lower loops in the g’s and y’s.  If your loops are big wide and connect back to the base line or the u part of the y, you are most likely a Physical.  If your loops curl near the bottom or go straight down without curving at all, you’re most likely an Emotional.

In this technological revolution the art of writing is being lost to the convenience of doing it faster. Writing is therapeutic in that it reveals our emotional states and can actually change them when directed to do so.

Take a look at your mates writing, if it’s the opposite of yours, this is normally a sign of good compatibility.  I didn’t say it means you’re supposed to be with this specific person, just that you are compatible with them.  Don’t worry if your handwriting is the same as theirs, this is only for entertainment purposes and something fun to know.

Anti-Matter

GENEVA – Scientists claimed a breakthrough in solving one of the biggest riddles of physics, successfully trapping the first “anti-atom” in a quest to understand what happened to all the antimatter that has vanished since the Big Bang. – AP

Even if you don’t believe in the Big Bang theory, this is big news to all of us.  Why? Well, I’m glad you asked.  Let’s deal first with the notion that science is anti-religious.  This could not be further from the truth. 2 Peter offers us a glimpse into this battle of intellects with this verse:

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

If you’re able to read this post I’m sure you have some awareness of the periodic table and the list of all ‘known’ elements.  How is it possible that Peter is speaking of elements in the bible when the isolation of these elements did not began until recent ‘recorded’ history?

I’ll tell you how.  We are inundated with so much information on a daily basis we don’t take or have the time to research something so remedial.  So, here’s the big secret (don’t tell anyone though).  People in the Bible were studying science too, they just called it by a different name… belief.  It deals heavily with the idea of believing what you can’t see, whereas science is more concerned with explaining what it is that we can see and document.  One last point to this, for anyone who still thinks science is evil, you may want to consider that fact that it took science to print the very holy text that we read today…hmm.

So, what does all of this have to do with anti-matter?  Well, the way that I see it is everything has an opposite regardless of which title you give it; up/down, left/right, in/out and so on.  Sometimes the simplest answer is the right answer so I suggest that if there’s a me that I can see (matter) then there’s  a me that I can’t see (anti-matter).  Interestingly enough, it’s the me that I can’t see that controls the one that I can…(crazy)

Has science found a way to peer into the spirit world? ….just a question.

Which Way Is Up

I’ve always been curious about the Universe; the galaxies, nebulae, the stars and so forth.  Even the word loosely translated means Uni (one) – Verse (Collection of words by an author or writer).  Hmm…One of the things that still intrigues me to this day is our prospective of said Universe.  Given the fact that no matter where we stand on the Earth, from our prospective, we’re standing on top of it.  Here in Atlanta, from the Earth’s prospective, we’re actually on the side of the world.  Well how is it  then that we appear to be looking up at the moon or the sun?  According to the models that I’ve seen, we’re actually looking ‘over’ at these celestial bodies, not up.

Here again we’re faced with accepting what has been given to us as truth, when in fact, the truth is relative to how much we know at the time.  Let’s examine a few of these now debunked truths shall we?

  • The Earth is flat – Aristotle offered evidence of the Earth was a sphere around 330 BC
  • The Sun revolves around the earth – In the 1600’s Galileo was met with stiff opposition from philosophers and clerics for his support of the heliocentric theory (belief that the Sun is at the center of the Solar System)
  • Y2k is Armageddon – We’re still here
  • Smart people are witches – Are you a witch?…Well are you?

I could go on and on but the point is, no matter what was said to the people who believed these theories, they were sold on these ‘facts’.  I have a real problem accepting my role as the customer.  That is to say I’m tired of buying everything presented to me with alluring packaging.    I’ll only use myself as an example since I know I’m the only one who does this.

When will we become the merchants of our lives?  When will we choose to control the products/information that we consume?  We don’t even question the information that has been given to us, that we base our everyday lives on!  Why? Well, that would make us rebels, weird or different.  People would laugh at us for not being as ignorant as they are….really?

Why stand on top of a world of which you have no control?

That’s all for now,

T Scott
