Leave God Alone

I recall a song that was always sang in the church my family attended when I was a little boy.  The song was called “Jesus Will Work It Out”.  Whenever someone would sing that song, the church would go nuts.  As the singer continued onto the chorus, “Even got a light bill due, even got a gas bill too, I turned it over to the lord and he worked it out…”

Now, as with earlier posts, my goal is to get us to become more responsible for ourselves and our own actions.  It seems that our reactive mind-sets have allowed for sub-par performances in our lives far too long.  Too many of us depend on God for the wrong things.  God didn’t cause you to lose your temper at work and curse your boss and get fired.  Now you want him to help you pay your light bill…And your gas bill too?

We go to God for aches and pains, this and that when he already gave you the power to fix these things yourself!  Yes, even your temper.  However, we’ve been conditioned to sit back and allow things to be given to us, paid for us and so on.  Imagine if you were giving to yourself as much as you expect others to give to you.

Now why should we leave God alone with all of this non-sense?  Because when you actually get the concept of what God is, you’ll see how much of an untapped resource you’ve been sitting on.  You see, God as I know it to be, cannot even be classified as a him.  That’s a human personification of something that we don’t understand.  There are other dimensions of life right here on earth that we could explore if we weren’t focused on going to the club tonight.  Then you’re praying to God again because you went home drunk with someone and you don’t remember what happened!  And the cycle continues.

I hear all the time now from anyone I discuss this matter with, “well I’m not religious, I’m spiritual”.  I just continue the conversation because I know what they mean but I don’t know if they know a lot of the time what they mean.  For example, one definition of religious is: a member of an order or congregation living by such a rule.  Now most of these individuals are devout church members and do all that they can to live by the ‘rule’ of their ‘religion’.  So, how are they not religious?  The next thing I’d ask would be, “What’s the difference between right or wrong and good or bad?  Why is it that I can do good all of my life and still go to hell and someone else can do bad their entire life and go to heaven(as long as they repent)?  How does spirituality help answer this question?”  This normally changes the direction of the conversation.  Anger typically follows and an argument ensues.

Now let’s go back for a second to ‘suggestibility’.  What we believe in has been suggested to us from birth.  Even if you’ve gone the opposite direction than you were taught, you’re going that way to spite what was suggested to you.  Which brings us to our belief systems.  I dare you to speak on a topic that is contrary to someone’s belief system about anything and discover the voracity in which the person defends it.  This again is the power of suggestibility.  “This is what I believe, and no one can tell me differently!”

Well I am here to tell you differently.  We are capable of so much more than we even realize.  We’ve been mentally institutionalize to believe that this is all that Life has to offer.  We live, we die, we go to heaven or hell and live eternity there.  Well I’ll be honest, I don’t know what happens after we die, I haven’t spoken to anyone who died and came back to tell me what happens either.  What I do know is what’s going on right now while I’m alive and what I can do about it.  If we weren’t meant to be in control of our own lives then why on earth are we here?

Anti-Matter

GENEVA – Scientists claimed a breakthrough in solving one of the biggest riddles of physics, successfully trapping the first “anti-atom” in a quest to understand what happened to all the antimatter that has vanished since the Big Bang. – AP

Even if you don’t believe in the Big Bang theory, this is big news to all of us.  Why? Well, I’m glad you asked.  Let’s deal first with the notion that science is anti-religious.  This could not be further from the truth. 2 Peter offers us a glimpse into this battle of intellects with this verse:

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

If you’re able to read this post I’m sure you have some awareness of the periodic table and the list of all ‘known’ elements.  How is it possible that Peter is speaking of elements in the bible when the isolation of these elements did not began until recent ‘recorded’ history?

I’ll tell you how.  We are inundated with so much information on a daily basis we don’t take or have the time to research something so remedial.  So, here’s the big secret (don’t tell anyone though).  People in the Bible were studying science too, they just called it by a different name… belief.  It deals heavily with the idea of believing what you can’t see, whereas science is more concerned with explaining what it is that we can see and document.  One last point to this, for anyone who still thinks science is evil, you may want to consider that fact that it took science to print the very holy text that we read today…hmm.

So, what does all of this have to do with anti-matter?  Well, the way that I see it is everything has an opposite regardless of which title you give it; up/down, left/right, in/out and so on.  Sometimes the simplest answer is the right answer so I suggest that if there’s a me that I can see (matter) then there’s  a me that I can’t see (anti-matter).  Interestingly enough, it’s the me that I can’t see that controls the one that I can…(crazy)

Has science found a way to peer into the spirit world? ….just a question.

Do Men Have Cylces?

As it relates to mood and sex,….sigh…yes, men do in fact have cycles.  In the emotionally sexual male it appears, at times, as a lack of interest in their partner.  It’s expressed as an over-active sex drive in the physically sexual male. By the way, women fall into one or the other category as well.

Let’s start with the emotional.  As it relates to sex, the emotional operates somewhat like a battery; after being used, he may require time to recharge.  That’s not to say that they can’t perform everyday, it’s just not likely to be the same enegy level each time.  Each person’s cycle is different.  They could be on a 1-7 day cycle or more as I recently discovered while working with a client.

The emotional is typically not up for physical touch after sex.  They’ve had their fill of physical contact for that moment.  Touch feels irritating to them and their bodies may even tend to be cold, until their next cycle day.  So, how do you know when that ‘cycle day is?  When they begin to show more interest in you physically that’s a good indicator.  That’s when their batteries have fully recharged and they’re ready.

Why is that?  Well, emotional’s are not as ’emotionally’ connected to their bodies as the physicals are; remember they internalize and analyze their feelings.  Therefore, the mind has to rejuvenate the body.  During this time don’t expect a lot of affection or attention… they are not ‘feeling it’.

The physical on the other hand expresses their emotions with their body so you may find that they can do it five times a day or more in some cases.  They don’t mind cuddling afterwards either, for the most part.  The cycle of the physical is much more frequent than that of the emotional.  They typically don’t ‘release’ as much as the emotional each time and are therefore able to release multiple times.  That’s not to say (again) that there’ll be fireworks each time; it’s just that its possible to do it.  The physical may become very irritated if they’re not able to release all of this energy within their cycle time frame; but more importantly, their physical body’s will display signs of stress… really.

The key here is to understand your own behaviour or cycle in an effort to get it into sync with your partner’s.  The physical could indeed influence the emotional’s cycle by only approaching them only on their cycle days; which will require something that the physical typically runs short on…patience.  However, the sex will be ten times better, from there start approaching one day earlier and take the time to get them ‘warmed up’.  So now a seven-day cycle becomes a six-day and so on…

In closing, no matter who or what you ultimately choose to be in relationship with, they’re going to be your opposite; that’s what attracted you to them.  This means that there will be issues. No Matter What!  So if you know this before hand, why not be prepared to solve them creatively as opposed to allowing your differences to end what always starts as a beautiful romance.

Which Way Is Up

I’ve always been curious about the Universe; the galaxies, nebulae, the stars and so forth.  Even the word loosely translated means Uni (one) – Verse (Collection of words by an author or writer).  Hmm…One of the things that still intrigues me to this day is our prospective of said Universe.  Given the fact that no matter where we stand on the Earth, from our prospective, we’re standing on top of it.  Here in Atlanta, from the Earth’s prospective, we’re actually on the side of the world.  Well how is it  then that we appear to be looking up at the moon or the sun?  According to the models that I’ve seen, we’re actually looking ‘over’ at these celestial bodies, not up.

Here again we’re faced with accepting what has been given to us as truth, when in fact, the truth is relative to how much we know at the time.  Let’s examine a few of these now debunked truths shall we?

  • The Earth is flat – Aristotle offered evidence of the Earth was a sphere around 330 BC
  • The Sun revolves around the earth – In the 1600’s Galileo was met with stiff opposition from philosophers and clerics for his support of the heliocentric theory (belief that the Sun is at the center of the Solar System)
  • Y2k is Armageddon – We’re still here
  • Smart people are witches – Are you a witch?…Well are you?

I could go on and on but the point is, no matter what was said to the people who believed these theories, they were sold on these ‘facts’.  I have a real problem accepting my role as the customer.  That is to say I’m tired of buying everything presented to me with alluring packaging.    I’ll only use myself as an example since I know I’m the only one who does this.

When will we become the merchants of our lives?  When will we choose to control the products/information that we consume?  We don’t even question the information that has been given to us, that we base our everyday lives on!  Why? Well, that would make us rebels, weird or different.  People would laugh at us for not being as ignorant as they are….really?

Why stand on top of a world of which you have no control?

That’s all for now,

T Scott
